Nightlife in Leeds

Leeds has one of the strongest nightlife scenes in the North of England, with a wide range of club nights, live music, DJ sets, and festivals running throughout the week. The city covers genres including house, techno, drum and bass, jungle, indie, rock, hip-hop, and post-punk, with a live music circuit that attracts both national and international acts.

The main nightlife areas in Leeds include Call Lane, Merrion Street, and the city centre. Brudenell Social Club in Hyde Park is one of the most respected grassroots live music venues in the UK. Project House is a 1,000-capacity venue opened through a collaboration between several of the city's independent operators. The long-running Back to Basics night has been hosting house music since 1991.

Leeds nightlife is active from Thursday through to Sunday, with student nights covering the midweek. The city has a well-known independent promoter scene and a nationally recognised post-punk and noise rock scene that has attracted significant press coverage in recent years.
