Where your Ad appears

One booking switches on every placement your event qualifies for. There are no tiers.

The small print

  • Listing your event is always free, whether or not you promote it.
  • Every paid placement is labelled Ad.
  • Not approved within 48 hours of payment, or before it starts? You get a full refund automatically.
  • You can cancel from My submissions. Once your Ad has started, you pay only for the days it ran.
  • Keep your ticket provider: people go to the ticket link already on your event.

Questions

Does my event need to be listed first?

Yes. Submit your event for review first; listing is free and never depends on payment. You can then pay online at checkout to promote it; the Ad only goes live once the event is approved, and you get a full refund automatically if it is not approved within 48 hours or before it starts. If your event is already on whatnightout from Skiddle or Fatsoma, use Promote this event on its page to take over the listing; once approved, your version replaces it. Listings from Resident Advisor and other sources cannot be promoted.

Can I see results?

After your Ad ends, we email you a short results summary: clicks on your Ad, visits to your event page and clicks on your ticket link.

Can I choose which genres I appear under?

Placement follows the genres and event types already attached to your approved listing. We do not add unrelated tags just to buy extra reach; matching the right audience is more useful for everyone. Every paid placement is labelled Ad.

What if someone promotes my event without permission?

Email hello@whatnightout.uk with a link to the event. If you are its real organiser, we remove the Ad and refund whoever paid for it. Everyone who submits or promotes an event declares that they are the organiser, or authorised by them.
