Nightlife in Brighton

Brighton has a diverse and active nightlife scene, with events running across club nights, DJ sets, live gigs, drag shows, and festivals. The city covers genres including house, techno, indie, pop, rock, and electronic, with a particularly strong LGBTQ+ nightlife scene. Brighton is the UK's most significant LGBTQ+ nightlife destination outside London.

The main nightlife areas are concentrated along the seafront and in the city centre. Concorde 2 on the seafront is a 600-capacity venue with an L-Acoustics sound system, hosting everything from indie gigs to all-night electronic events. Patterns is a multi-floor electronic music venue on the waterfront. The Lanes and North Laine have independent bars, while Kemptown is the centre of LGBTQ+ nightlife.

Brighton has a compact, walkable city centre where most venues are within a short distance of each other. Being an hour from London by train, Brighton regularly attracts DJs and promoters from the capital. Brighton Pride in August is one of the UK's largest Pride events. The Great Escape festival in May is a major new music showcase.
