Bringing fresh fire from a brand new album. Bassy, brassy, sunshine guitars & slick drums — you won't stop dancing to high-energy KongoJazz!
KDN are back and buzzing for their first live gig in years at their spiritual home, The Jago.
On Saturday 23rd May, you will be tearing up the dancefloor to KDN performing their super danceable new album Moving Fire LIVE, in full. As well as tried and tested crowd favourites written since their last release, you will be treated to some freshly fire-cooked, blazing hot new tracks no one - including the band - has ever heard live on stage.
Their last album, 360° received some rave reviews...
"A euphoric joy" - MOJO ★★★★
"An untrammelled party sound" - The Arts Desk
"An all round excellent album... soaked in Kinshasa sunshine... captivating throughout...nothing short of thrilling" - Songlines magazine
"It will enrich your life" - Listen With Monger
This new album is EVEN. MORE. FIRE. You have to be there to believe it. Come be the first critics and hear it in full when they play it all live for the first time ever, months ahead of it's release.
Led by the king of crowd participation, Congolese bassist Mulele Matondo, and co-founded with British jazz guitarist John Kelly, master of sublime sunshine sounds, KDN brings a perfect fusion of African roots and UK jazz. Will Scott and Mike Soper lift the roof with soul-rousing horns, while Mbouta Kissangwa on drums and rhythm guitarist Yves Tasinda lock in the driving grooves.
Africa's finest dance music styles, revived, urbanised, and fused with a spicy sprinkle of jazz in KDN's own brand of Afro-Joyful Kongo Jazz - straight up ass-shaking music. You will not be able to stop yourself!
Last time they graced this city it was a legendary set supporting Kanda Bongo Man at the Jazz Cafe. This time, the stage is all theirs. And they're gonna own it.
Limited early bird tickets are a ridiculous bargain for the party you'll be having — the sooner you book, the better the deal. Bring your friends, bring a reason to celebrate, or just bring yourself for an unforgettable night. Don't dilly dally or you'll be a Sorry Snoozer.
These are some reviews of KDN's live performances:

"Incredible musicianship" - Cerys Matthews, BBC 6 Music
"The tightest band in the country... maybe many countries. Wherever they go they always bring a raucously joyful party." - Max Reinhardt, Soho Radio
"Absolutely one of the most exciting bands on the planet right now" - Dr Neil March, Trust The Doc
Book it in NOW! It really will "enrich your life"
