Bishop's House
LOVAGE is the newest piece from Erin Lang (Canada) and Jorhito Briseño (Chile), being performed in the UK for the first time. A sonic landscape invoking the powers and wisdom of the roots running across the veil of the seen and unseen; it’s a sound ritual summoning the guidance of the wilds of nature, of our ancestors, creating a portal to access the wisdom that lives inside us and that radiates in the collective and the beyond.
The collaboration between Erin Lang (of Berlin‑based group Foundling) and Jorhito Briseño (aka Rêyzen) drifts through a sonic landscape that feels both ancient and other‑worldly. Lang’s haunted, shimmering vocals and harp intertwine with Briseño’s world of percussion: glassophone, chimes, ocean drums, and gongs, forming immersive sound worlds of resonance, air, and depth.
Their first encounter was an ambient piece created for the ‘Echoes for Palestine’ project, inspired by “Seagull,” a poem by Palestinian poet Batool Abu Akleen. From that seed, the project grew into an exploration of grief, resilience, and transcendent space.
Erin Lang is a Canadian‑born, Berlin‑based vocalist, bassist, harpist, and composer. She is the creative force behind Foundling, a project known for its emotionally resonant blend of ambient, indie folk, avant-garde pop, and experimental music. Her work often explores themes of care, liminality, and presence, bridging song, sound art, and meditative listening. She has toured extensively across Europe and North America, including performances supporting Agnes Obel and Timber Timbre at venues such as the Berlin and Paris Philharmonies, Le Grand Rex, and Le Trianon in Paris and many others. Following the release of Equilibria (2024), Foundling’s practice has shifted toward more spacious, listening-centred, and multi-sensory concerts that emphasise sustained tone, atmosphere, and the interplay between composed pieces and improvisation.
Jorhito Briseño (Rêyzen) is a sound artist, dj and percussionist working at the intersection of improvisation, somatic practice, and deep listening. His work focuses on vibration, breath, and the physical experience of sound, using acoustic and overtone‑rich non-traditional instruments to create immersive sonic environments. He has been working actively in sound and performance, sharing his work through different projects and collaborations and participating in well-known Music Festivals as Garbicz (Poland) , Waking Life (Portugal), Waha Festival (Romania), Come Bye (UK), Kune (Denmark) and many more throughout Europe and the USA.
Ric Booth is a multi instrumentalist, composer, and producer whose work blends folk, electronic ambient, post pock, contemporary classical, and experimental music.
