My, my. The energy was electric last time round. Can you give us some more? disko kix round #3 returns to Movers on Friday 6th November as we continue our disco deep dive into dimensions new.
This month we're looking forward to seeing a double return to the booth for Nottingham DJs saulya, and, all the way from Bristol, Maxx is back.
Disco-centric treats await. See you there for another evening of friends, music & dancing.
Presented by:
saulya
Nottingham born-and-bred DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist who has been playing bangers across the city and beyond for almost 20 years.
The diskokix fine clientele can expect him to serve the very best tunes at the intersection of disco, funk, and new jack swing. Think: the musical equivalent of Memphis Design.
“Know Yourself and Know Your Audience” is his guiding principle as a selector. saulya is a multi-genre DJ specialising in music that is unapologetically visceral, and always dancefloor-friendly. An early member of the city’s renowned MIMM Collective of artists and musicians, saulya can always be relied upon to mine the depths of his vast music collection to bring the best vibes to any occasion.
You may also know saulya as a founding member of legendary Nottingham music and events label Tumble Audio, under his moniker Lyka. He partnered with Sergic, Killjoy and Hank Limit to build an established home for all those who prefer their dance music bass-centric, impossibly leg-shakeable, and hideous (in a good way), for almost a decade.

Maxx
Returning home from Bristol, bringing her funky favourites and sharpening up your shoe-shaking with funk, soul & disco that’ll stroke your nostalgic nerve and remind you what it is to boogie.
-
alex weston
City Pop host, one half of swingdash radio sweethearts bran rot, Alex Weston is a selector and musician whose approach to DJing is driven by extreme curiosity.
After a (quite frankly) biblical experience at We Out Here festival in 2025, he launched disko kix with the belief that disco is more than just music: it’s history, healing, connection, love and being fucking fab on the dancefloor with your nearest and dearest.
His sets are built on the shimmer of 80s Japanese City Pop, the cold voltage of Italo synthesisers and the warmth of disco grooves, threaded together with global leftfield selections that keep you guessing along the way.
