Onur Özer, a Turkish-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer, is a global name in the world of electronic music thanks to his seamless mixing and distinctive style. His journey from Istanbul's clubs to global stages has left a lasting impact on the music community, always pushing boundaries by exploring new sounds and styles.
With over 20 years of experience in digging, producing, and performing, Özer's expertise makes him one of the key figures in the underground music world. His sets blend various genres effortlessly, creating an ever-changing musical journey for every dancer and listener.
Onur Ozer is a minimal techno DJ resident in Istanbul, Turkey. Ozer began his career in the late nineties when minimal and tech-house were making a resurgence in Istanbul. In a city oppressed by both a stifling heat and a musical style equally as stagnant, Onur helped battle to change the old rules and break old habits, breathing fresh life into a dispirited club scene. Armed with his vinyl case, still dressed in his shabby student clothes, he entered the clubs to share his biggest passion, dancing without reason. Onur continued to fight the cause and helped found a number of new, vanguard venues, bringing new sounds and styles to Turkey’s capital. In 2002 he began to export this warm Istanbul sound to different cities in Germany. Since then he has kept the crowds dancing in such venues as Robert Johnson, Harry Klein, Studio 672 and Kerosin. 2004 witnessed a turning point in his career and he became the resident DJ of the highly-rated party series Sweet Sense, welcoming many international acts. In 2005 he began to take his already well-honed musical talents into the studio, releasing his debut EP ‘Freakdisco’ on Freude-Am-Tanzen in August. Another ‘Envy EP’ on Vakant the following month. Germany’s Groove Magazine rated him as one of their up and comers of the year.
The veteran DJ is a leader in an increasingly exciting corner of dance music. This desire to seek out less obvious dance floor sounds, coupled with world-class DJ skills, has led to Özer becoming a leader in an increasingly exciting corner of dance music, where deep digging, long DJ sets and playing vinyl are key.

We love older dancers & music lovers and this season Cobalt is trialling some club events with age restrictions to make sure that our space remains protected for older audiences who love their music. Please check the details of each event and make sure you are old enough to attend. We will be asking for ID at the door and if you buy a ticket but are not the right age you will not be admitted & no refunds made. If you are a particularly young music head with a real love & knowledge of some of the bookings that we have restricted to older ages you may email us BUT we will be looking for proof of your true commitment to music.
