ROJAK is a Manchester-based queer party celebrating LGBTQI people of colour.
Spring has already sprung and summer is in full swing so of course we had to run it back for a likkle matinée performance taking over our favourite queer boozer.
It’s that time of year again so we’re back in the DBA July 4th for a special garden party and super excited to be bringing CHY along for their ROJAK debut alongside our trusted residents to deliver only the sleekest of sounds . Last years was 1 for the books so come rain or shine, it’s gonna be vibes.

COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
1. This is an event that celebrates the QTIPOC community (people of colour who identify as queer, trans or intersex). Everyone is welcome to attend. If you are attending as an ally please be mindful of how you navigate the space.
2. Come as you are. You can come wearing the most or the least. We want this to be a space where you can express yourself freely, and celebrate each other.
3. This is an intentional space for people who share our values. We do not tolerate ANY forms of discrimination or prejudice. Our value is that each individual has equal worth regardless of their age, body shape/size, class, ethnicity, disability, gender, gender presentation, language ability, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation.
Please reflect on how your personal biases may impact on the way you interact with someone in this space. This is vulnerable lifelong work, but one we encourage you to embark on as a gift to yourself and the people around you.
4. Please be mindful of people’s personal boundaries. Always check for consent before crossing these boundaries. We’d love for you to meet people who are just as enthusiastic to connect with you!
5. Do not assume anyone’s gender, pronouns or sexual preferences. Check in if you are not sure, and give yourself the opportunity to connect with someone as their most authentic self.
6. We invite you to be present with us throughout the event. Please avoid taking photos or videos on the dancefloor. However if you would like to document your fabulous time, please be mindful of who you include in the shot, as not everyone may be comfortable with that.
7. If you require assistance or find yourself in a difficult situation remember that you don’t have to go through it on your own. Members of our team are here to support you, and will be wearing a coloured armband. Alternatively, you can speak to someone behind the bar.
8. We try our best to provide infrastructures for support. We also ask that everyone attending share the collective responsibility of honouring these guidelines. Our goal is to help facilitate you having a good time.
At the same time, know your limits. Please look after yourself and each other.
