Lamp Oil Presents Jess MahlerUK-based Australian saxophonist, Jess Mahler is an emerging voice within Manchester's contemporary jazz scene. Her music draws influence from the vibrant jazz communities of both Melbourne and Manchester, deeply rooted in spiritual jazz and expressive improvisation she pushes beyond the boundaries of jazz tradition. Mahler’s music is about energy, interplay and a celebration of live performance.

Having honed her craft in Melbourne’s thriving music community, Mahler can now be found performing across the UK’s vibrant jazz scene, with appearances at Band on the Wall, SOFAR Sounds London, Gorilla, Beyond the Music and Green Island Festival, alongside a growing body of freelance performances and recording work with artists like IAMDDB, Greenskeepers and Gnawa MCR.
