Cromlech is an experimental industrial project based in Manchester, spearheaded by

musician Chris Williams, who is also known for his work as Primitive Knot. Moving away from traditional metal structures, the project prioritizes thick, nightmare-

inducing atmospheres and distorted, propulsive sounds.

Cromlech emerged from Manchester's "psych-undergrowth" to deliver music

described as "industrial noise-rock par excellence". While Williams' earlier work

under Primitive Knot leaned into dark energy, Cromlech channels this into a more

abrasive, atmospheric sonic destruction. The project is known for its "muscular, riff-

heavy battering-ram" sound, often layered with growled defiance and socio-political

themes.
