Irish, Brighton-based troubadour Dessie Magee blends folk-rock with blues and soul, pairing raw storytelling with anthemic hooks. Think the grit of Johnny Cash and the drive of Mumford & Sons, somewhere between Frank Turner and Kings of Leon. His live shows are passionate, high-impact and properly communal, the kind where the whole room ends up singing. After a run of 25 sold-out dates, Dessie returns to Newcastle, following a sold-out first show in the city in September.
