Francisco López is one of the most relevant sound artists and avant-garde experimental musicians of today. Winner of the Qwartz Award for best sound anthology and recipient of five honorary mentions from Ars Electronica, he has spent four decades developing an astonishing sonic universe based on a profound listening to the world.
On October 10th, López will deliver his signature acoustic sonic experience through the use of multi-channel surround systems and blindfolds provided to the audience, for what he calls a ‘monomedia situation’ and a ‘voluntary commitment to listening’.
“Drawing the ear from one fascination to the next... everything in his sonic frame gleams with pristinely arranged dramatic purpose” - The New York Times
This performance forms part of the programme for Auris, Manchester’s first dedicated sound art festival, 9–11 October 2026, bringing together artists from across the UK and internationally for three days of performances, installations, talks, workshops and soundwalks.
