About
Avant classical composer and performance artist RIEKO, who has held residencies at Tate, the ICA and Turner Contemporary, launches her new EP, Zakuro, with an extra-sensory evening blending mindfulness, high fashion and experimental pop at Living Womb in Hackney Wick. The title is Japanese for pomegranate, the symbol of a Buddhist demon turned deity who protects mothers and their children. The evening begins with her signature SEANCES, a meditation workshop mixing improvised sound, reiki and automatic writing, accompanied by a crystal sound bath from her mother, before RIEKO performs the EP live, with DJ sets and an exhibition of the art made for the record.
