About

Yasha 96 (DE/CZ)

Yasha 96 is an indie pop project by Jáchym Kovář, currently based in Berlin. Drawing inspiration from the evocative singer-songwriter sound of the 90s, the project blends nostalgic elements with a fresh, contemporary indie pop aesthetic, incorporating influences from post-punk and shoegaze.

Often described as a hidden gem of the Czech alternative scene, Yasha 96’s debut album The Boy Who Came Here From The Dust was named one of the best indie pop albums of 2021 by the radio show Reflector. His follow-up album FILIP is built around voice memos recorded by friends between 2021 and 2023, forming a narrative that explores themes of love, grief, self-doubt, and acceptance. The album was also recognized by Headliner Magazine as one of the top 100 Czech albums of the 21st century.

Yasha was shortlisted for the Czech Music Academy Awards (Anděl) in the Best New Artist category in 2023. FILIP also received two nominations at the Czech Music Critic Awards Apollo (Album of the Year and Single of the Year 2023). He has further been selected for Czeching 2025, an export-focused competition organized by Radio Wave, and recently released a new album titled E/DM (Enjoying / Destroying Myself). The single “Shake You Off” won the Czech Music Academy Award (Anděl) for Best Music Video in 2025.

“The music of Yasha 96 is tender and danceable at the same time… songs that rise up and carry you away,” said Christoph Scharag from RBB Radio Fritz. The project has received support from playlists such as New Music Friday CZ/SK and Neon, as well as Czech radio stations Express and Radio 1, and Fenne Lily’s Apathy Hour podcast.

Yasha 96 performs with a full band, delivering a rich and dynamic live experience that goes beyond the traditional solo singer-songwriter format.

Mo Van Zandt (DE,USA)

Maverick singer-producer Mo Van Zandt weaves electronica, trip-hop and IDM into music between annihilation and beauty. Driven by art rock and turn-of-millennium dance music, she blends experimental rhythm and bass with soulful vocals into a left-field pop likened to Yves Tumor, Bjork, & Imogen Heap. Her bass-heavy anthems are played out in Berlin clubs and radio (HöR, OHM). Together with Eric Baldwin aka Cocktail Party Effect (collaborations with HAAi & Amon Tobin), Van Zandt crafts a semi-fictional soundtrack for her life in dance music communities across New York, London, and Berlin.

In 2026, Van Zandt collaborated with John Grant & Cocktail Party Effect on the score and single for her club short "BOTTLECAP". The film broadcasted the spirit of her scene at it's international premiere in Europe's largest queer film festival, BFI Flare, and was awarded "Best Short Short" in Berlin Independent Film Festival. 10 Must-watch BFI FLARE shorts

One of Berlin pop’s enduring voices, Colin Self, compared her debut album to “Caroline Polachek level songwriting”. In ”TÆR, Radiothriller”, stories of splintering reality, forbidden queer love, and dance floor escapism play out to dub soaked electronics and foley — at its core, pop holding a black mirror to the dizzying speed of change in our time. The album premiered at Tresor’s sister club for outlier music, OHM, amongst their noir club hit “So Disco” (YUKU). Kaltblut Video Premiere

Her distinct sound and spectacle have captivated crowds across festivals, clubs, and sold-out shows at KWIA, Renate, OHM, and Neurotica Festival. She has an AV performance residency at QS1 Studio and is the cofounder of ORA, an international FLINTA collective & concert series known for its collision of soulful electronic music with local dancers, live visuals, and film.
