The Listening Room
On the 23rd of September, The Listening Room at MOI hosts the next edition of Toki-O Nights, a free to attend listening bar series inspired by Japan’s kissaten culture.
Next up is Alex from Tokyo. Paris-born, Tokyo-raised DJ, producer and cultural curator who has been a key figure connecting Japanese and international underground dance music scenes since the 1990s.
As a producer, he's also one half of Tokyo Black Star, a project that combines deep house, cosmic disco, jazz and electronic experimentation. Beyond DJing and producing, Alex is highly regarded as a connector and curator, founding the World Famous label.
With hi-fi sound from Technics and Toki Highballs served throughout the evening, Toki-O Nights channels the slower, more intentional atmosphere of Japanese listening bar culture.
