The Dance Starts At Home

We all have so many nostalgic memories on what family house parties used to feel like. If you’re craving one like us, you’re in luck because this dance will embody the warmth and soul missing from London’s nightlife scene.

Introducing the HOME RADIO dance series, an extension of all the things that make our radio shows, symposiums and Ludi Club gatherings feel welcoming, intentional and rooted in heritage - but we’re giving you a little bit more space to move your waist, dance with a friend and fill your belly. We call this first one: THE DANCE STARTS AT HOME, inspired by the

legacy of Blue’s Dances in the Windrush Era‘ and our black pioneers that birthed and nurtured music scenes from their homes.

We’ll be celebrating Black British music and heritage, travelling through the last 50 years - Home Radio style. Come through to hear Lovers Rock, Street Soul, Bruk and Jungle from our family of DJ’s and MC’s on the mighty Each One Teach One sound system. And we’ll be hosting a legendary cypher: London’s most fiery MC’s over funky and ragga-infused beats.

This will take place at Brixton’s Arch 535 - a former house converted into a cosy night-life venue. The kitchen will be a lively place to eat and socialise in, with a large pot of Caribbean soup on the stove from Grandma Cynthia, Trini Doubles from Eyram of Garden of Afruika and spiced, loose-leaf teas from Gabriel Dedji. The gorgeous main room will boast ambience and great bass, powered by the mighty Each One Teach One Soundsystem.

Keeping the dancefloor warm we have:

DUBPLATE PEARL (LOVERS ROCK LISTENING SESSION)

SHARI SOUL W/ CULTURE J (MC)

KLONDÉ (CYPHER) FT. DOCHI, KING KAI & OBI PSALMS

PRINCESS DEJ

Ludi and Dominoes at the start if you make it down early!

See you in the dance.
