Now in its fifth year, the Touching Bass Carnival Jam unites the finest names across the soundsystem continuum and beyond for an all-ages-welcome, pre–Notting Hill Carnival gathering of music, dance and food.
In collaboration with Felt Sound System, we mark ten years of Touching Bass inna Brixton—alongside friends, sonic lynchpins, and a new wave of future ones-to-watch—for a Sunday session for the books.
Topping the bill is the grime godfather himself WILEY with an incredibly rare return to his jungle MC roots; backed by FAUZIA on decks. Local titans ZENA and SLICKNBOBBY collide for an Ethio Jazz-meets-dub live special in celebration of their latest release.
As ever, the wider spectrum of Afro-diasporic sonics also finds home: KIKELOMO and FAT-LÏP traverse its full length and breadth, while Príncipe Discos’ NÍDIA sweats the dance with the percussive rhythms of Lisbon's south. Meanwhile, Dennery Segment and bouyon are represented by UK-via-Saint Lucian don TOP KLAS.
Touching Bass stewards ERROL and MS. SANKOFA pepper the final seasoning on what is always a highlight of our calendar year.
There’ll be space for kids in our dedicated children’s area. If unnu hungry, come nourish your belly with the finest in Caribbean food; lovingly provided by the Chaneti Eats/Hills of Troy family.
