ONE OF US

Some people become part of the fabric of London’s underground house music scene. Madz “Madagascar” Saleem was one of them.

For years, Madz was a familiar face across London’s clubs. Working guest lists, running doors, looking after people and making sure the party was always the right kind of party.

She had a dry sense of humour, a sharp tongue and a legendary take-no-shit attitude. If Madz was on the door, you knew it was going to be a good night.

But Madz was so much more than the person on the door.

She was part of a community built around music, friendship, creativity, freedom and finding your people. A community that brought together people from every background and created friendships that lasted for decades.

On Sunday 27th September, we’re bringing that community together to celebrate Madz, her life and the place she held in London’s club culture.

This isn’t a funeral.

It isn’t a religious service.

It’s a celebration.

Expect a serious lineup of DJs from London’s underground house music scene, photos and memories from Madz’s life, a commemorative video created by her friends, and people from across the London club community coming together once again.

And no speeches, because Madz would have absolutely hated the music stopping.

RAISING FUNDS FOR TELL MAMA CHARITY CLOSE TO HER HEART

Entry is by a minimum £5 donation, with 100% of funds raised going directly to Tell MAMA, a charity that was very close to Madz’s heart and supports work tackling anti-Muslim hate and Islamophobia.
