The Barbican Hall
The Colombian experimental composer and electronic musician returns with her latest album, A Danger to Ourselves, and expanded arrangements of her work in this special collaboration with Her Ensemble.
Lucrecia Dalt pushes beyond her earlier lo-fi approach toward a newfound clarity where both voice and instrument emerge with greater presence, generating musicality through the interplay of bass lines, beats and textural details.
Her latest album, A Danger to Ourselves reflects on life's fragility, love's oscillations and the desire for liberation from everyday patterns toward more meaningful inner experiences. She is joined by Her Ensemble, a free form group that came together in response to the gender gap in the music industry, challenging the status quo and celebrating underrepresented voices.
Dalt's trilogy of works - Anticlines (2018), No era sólida (2020), and ¡Ay! (2022) expanded her sonic palette and conceptual depth. ¡Ay! earned album of the year from The Wire and made top ten in Pitchfork, New York Times and NPR.
