About

inklingroom: Festival of New Music from Eastern Europe arrives to forge new traditions. Rooted in experimental DIY culture and grassroots nightlife, the new multi-disciplinary, multi-venue event launches as a celebration of music and art from Eastern Europe and its diaspora, platforming UK debuts, rare performances and international collaborations for its inaugural edition.

Born from a desire to challenge narrow views of the region’s cultural identity, New Music From Eastern Europe places autonomy with the innovators. It unites artists and collectives rewriting contemporary narratives interwoven with Eastern European heritage. Taking place across Cafe Oto, EartH Theatre and Ormside Projects from 18-21 February, the programme moves across geographies, generations and artistic practices to platform borderless creative curiosity and invite forward-thinking dialogues.

Its bold, diverse programme unites cross-disciplinary world-builders and champions underrepresented voices, moving through club music, modern classical, experimental electronics, protest music and performance art. The line-up features a UK premiere of drift FM (Pavel Milyakov (buttechno) & Ugnė Uma), Rat Section, James Holden & Wacław Zimpel and a live AV show from Gábor Lázár. Plus Nino Dava, Wojciech Rusin, object blue in collaboration with Natalia Podgórska and many more artists - reflecting the diversity of contemporary Eastern European art and music.

More artists to be announced soon.

A limited two and three day festival passes available.
