Nico's Bar at Hackney Bridge
Get yourselves some family therapy as Family Therapy play all night long. Consisting of the mother, father and daughter b2b2b trio Janey G, Baghdaddy Naz and LUMA.
With summer appearances at Dancing Family Festival in Abergavenny and in Canada, this is the first time Family Therapy are hosting their own party and its FREE! Party with your parents (and your friends too)! Expect house anthems and UK club sounds shaped by life in South East London with an Arabic twist.
Baghdaddy Naz was the OG DJ in the family, playing across London at the heart of the late 80s and early 90s house music explosion. Janey G caught the bug after meeting him and even DJed at their wedding! She went on to master mixing and scratching on vinyl in the 00s. Then came LUMA, who started DJing as a teenager taught by her parents, who then fell in love with club culture and founded Habibti Nation, a platform dedicated to underground electronic music from the SWANA diaspora, dedicated to female, gender non conforming and trans artists. She has played everywhere from Glastonbury to Tokyo, Berlin to Bethlehem, with Janey G and Baghdaddy Naz always on guest list!
In 2024, the three joined forces as an indomitable trio, their sound based on their family values of love, unity and positivity. You can find both LUMA, Janey G and sometimes Baghdaddy Naz on Sister Midnight FM, staple SE Ldn community radio station with their respective shows 'From Lewisham to Baghdad' and 'Saved by House'. You can also find LUMA heading up things at Habibti Nation, with recent appearances at the Southbank Centre and Soho House.
Sometimes all you need is a little free family therapy!
