Club Soft with Joseph Wood, Mina, Peroli, GDSMRCY, BLCK Stream

Club Soft is a day party for adventurous music fans, where you can dance to cutting-edge club music and experience the restorative power of the sound-system in an alcohol and substance-free space. Everyone is welcome, whether you are sober, experimenting with sobriety, or are just curious to try something new.

For this edition we are joined by:

Peroli, the Brazilian DJ who connects the dots between the UK and Brazilian underground, with a passion for grime, regularly performing with MC Jammz, expect razor sharp club sounds from Brazil, the UK and beyond!

Joseph Wood, a dancer, producer and community organiser with a passion for all things 160bpm and above. Joseph caught our attention with his recent "Crocodile Spirit" EP, an urgent, intense collection of tracks inspired by high energy dance music from West Africa and the Caribbean. Expect street beat, mara, soca, footwork and hybrid dance mutations.

GDSMRCY, is a DJ, founder of Echoes International and a Club Soft regular who uses the technology of the dance floor to reclaim our right to joy and liberation. Their work is rooted in reclaiming the black roots of electronic music and dissolving the borders and binaries that keep us separate from ourselves and each other.

Mina is a producer and DJ who has been making joyful and high energy club music for the last 10 years. Mina will be performing a live electronic set featuring 100% her own productions, expect a mix of soca, footwork, dancehall, techno, trance, with distorted bass and euphoric melodies.

BLCK Stream - Hailing from Kumasi, Ghana, BLCK Stream is a DJ, artist and cultural producer who aims to share the musical talents of his hometown of Kumasi, Ghana with the world. Expect afro-electronic club bangers mixed with rap, and high energy left-field bass.

We will also be running a free (with a ticket) movement workshop from 5.30-6pm, led by dancer Niamh Keady. The workshop will be a guided movement session for you to connect with your body and learn some simple moves to a set from our resident DJs. Niamh will give you tools to explore movement within a club-space at your own pace, no prior dance training or experience required!
