The UK AIDS quilt is a living memorial instigated by Scottish activist Alastair Hume in the 1980s. The quilt is a historic, collaborative textile monument made of handmade patchwork tributes honouring individuals who died during the early years of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. It was directly inspired by the Names Project, the USA's Aids Memorial Quilt, which is the largest community arts project in human history.
All profits in support of the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt. Event curated by HuussH and Colin HOT MESS.
This event is part of the public programme for the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt, on display for the first time ever in Scotland at Tramway, from 12 September – 4 October 2026.
