Before you book: affiliation, age, ID and refundsHow listings work

whatnightout brings together public listings; it does not make an event university-affiliated. Words such as “official” come from the organiser unless the source itself is a university or students' union. Check the ticket source, refund terms, age limit and student-ID rules before paying.

Planning Freshers Week in Edinburgh

Freshers schedules are published in stages, so it is worth comparing individual tickets, multi-event passes and official students' union listings before committing. whatnightout keeps the live event list separate from the organiser's claims so you can check each booking at its original source.

Edinburgh's events programme covers a wide range of genres and formats. Techno and house nights run regularly in the Cowgate, with Sneaky Pete's, Cabaret Voltaire, and the Bongo Club programming weekly events. The Liquid Room and La Belle Angele handle mid-size events spanning electronic, indie, and retro formats.
