Techno came out of Detroit in the mid-80s and never looked back. Built on repetitive four-on-the-floor kicks, synthesisers, and stripped-back arrangements, it ranges from deep and hypnotic to relentlessly hard. Expect dark rooms, heavy bass, and sets that build over hours rather than minutes.
