Calabash! Presents Slow Jamz
This 4th of July Calabash! Presents Mawadduh, a Glasgow based Sudanese artist who explores home, longing and identity. Featured on BBC Music Introducing Scotland, her sound infuses rhythm, lyrcism and silky vocals for stunning live performances.
As part of Gut Level's Many Hands, Calabash!'s Many Sounds is hopping through diverse Black expression, from Punk to Neo soul. Come with a lover, or friends for a lowkey, candlelit, grown vibe to some music and food.
All ticket money collected will be donated to a Sudanese charity working on the ground to help the Sudanese people trying to rebuild their lives after 3 years of war.
Accompanying Mawadduh are local DJ's Mike and FUANISA, both of whom are no stranger to deep RnB and soul selections, to soundtrack the evening. Hazel.J, now based in Bristol, will also be starting us off with some R&B and slower Sudanese vibes.
