A VOID are a self-styled 3 piece rock band based in London, UK. They fuse the spirit of sonicgrunge to a DIY punk aesthetic fueled by Boursin Cheese and pickle juice. Influences include SonicYouth, Hole, Deftones, Bjork, Daniel Balavoine, Charles Aznavour.Formed in Paris by singer/guitarist Camille Alexander in 2015, the band unleashed their first EP,Roses As Insides, in June 2016, before cannibalistic tendencies got the better of original drummerRoman Zaborski and bassist Robin Dickinson. Camille quickly enlisted the hard- hitting drummingskills and harmonious vocals of Marie Niemiec, before they sought exile in London. The bandgigged as a two-piece until they discovered their bassist, Aaron Hartmann, lurking on a park bench.The band independently birthed their debut full-length album, Awkward And Devastated, inNovember 2018, and celebrated by performing dual album release gigs at The Windmill in Brixtonand Supersonic in Paris.In March 2019, A VOID were the only band that featured female musicians to be shortlisted from300 applications for the Northern Exposure/INmusic Festival contest, and were invited to performin the final at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool.The band self-released their second album Dissociation in September 2022, from which theyreleased five singles: Sad Events Reoccur, Stepping On Snails, Newspapers, 5102 and Sick As ADog. Each of these singles comes along with a music video with unique sets carefully imagined andcrafted by the band themselves, directed and edited by frontwoman Camille Alexander, featuringpaper planes, snails crawling on their faces, and piles of newspapers. Dissociation was createdduring 2020-21 lockdown, recorded, mixed and mastered by Jason Wilson whose productioncredits include You Me At Six, Don Broco, Dinosaur Pile-up and Reuben.Stepping On Snails received over 46 000 plays on Spotify since its release in August 2021 andNewspapers, 39 000 since April 2022. Both track have been featured in major Spotify editorialplaylists such as All New Rock, Smells Like Stream Spirit, Volume France and Post-GrungeAppreciation. Three of the singles from Dissociation have received national radio plays on Ouï FMand RTL2 (France), Radio X (UK) and Radio FM4 (Austria).The band celebrated the release of this second album with a packed show at the Shacklewell Armswhich they organized themselves, and a live showcase and signing of their 12” vinyl (distributed byPunk Fox Records via Rough Trade) at Rough Trade East.In February 2023, A Void played their first ever shows in Germany, supporting SUN (FR/DE), andSorry (UK) on their Cologne and Hamburg show in the mythical Molotow club, as well as playing asold out headline show in Berlin at Schokoladen.The band follows this tour by the release of '2023', a tongue in cheek single about the end of theworld which was aired Alyx Holcombe's show on BBC Radio 1 as well as getting included intomajor Spotify playlists such as All New Rock and Alternative Noise.A VOID consistently play incendiary shows across their native Paris and adopted home city ofLondon, and frequently spread their chaos further afield to other cities such as Brighton,Nottingham, Liverpool and occasionally venturing into Europe (Netherlands, Germany) ! The bandare available for gig bookings, birthday celebrations, wedding receptions, fromage shop openingsand any event requiring a heavy dose of “buzz-saw grunge pop that combines bitter grit and a self-effacing lyrical charm...” (The Vapour Trail).A VOID have performed shows for a variety of emblematic live music venues in the UK andFrance, including Accor Arena in Paris in June 2025 supporting french legends Indochine on thelast show of their sold out arena tour, Concorde 2, The Garage, the Cavern Club, The Dome,Belgrave Music Hall, Molotow Club and have shared stages with Sorry, Lambrini Girls, TheWytches, C.O.F.F.I.N, Civic, Calva Louise, SUN, Skating Polly, Hands Off Gretel (ex-DelilahBon) amongst many others. The band win over new converts at every show they perform and havebuilt up a significant social media presence. They are currently recording their 3rd album withGrammy winning producer Shuta Shinoda just played their biggest show to date on the 21st of Junein Accor Arena, Paris, supporting the french legends Indochine.
