The Dòdò Festival is a first-of-its-kind cultural experience celebrating Afro-Caribbean identity through food, music, and shared heritage.
“Dòdò” is the Yoruba word for plantain—a staple food deeply rooted in African and Caribbean cultures. Across Nigeria, Ghana, and Jamaica, plantain is more than a meal; it is a shared cultural experience.
The Dòdò Festival was created to celebrate this shared identity and bridge cultural gaps within the diaspora by creating a space where food, music, fashion, and storytelling come together.
At its core, the festival is about:
Connection across cultures
Celebrating heritage
Creating a sense of belonging for diaspora communities
Our vision is to build The Dòdò Festival into one of the UK’s leading cultural festivals.
