About this event

Sofia & the Antoinettes has already received support from BBC Radio 1 and Wonderland for her stunning 2025 debut EP ‘WOMEN WHO LOVE TOO MUCH’, and recent single ‘Hi My Love’, which was made BBC Introducing’s Tune of the Week. She also played her first show of 2026 at The Lower Third for their Ones To Watch series. A magnetic live performer, Sofia recently supported Lola Young at her London Palladium show, and will also open for her in LA later this month, before embarking on her debut UK headline tour - playing Manchester’s Deaf Institute on 19 May and London’s Hoxton Hall on 20 May.

Finding home in East London, Sofia is inspired by artists and poets including Lola Young, Leonard Cohen, Lana Del Rey, Jeff Buckley and Sylvia Plath. Building a word-of-mouth following with her vivid lyricism, distinctive vocal ability and incredible stage presence, in 2025 she released debut EP Women Who Love Too Much, a collection of intimate portraits of love, loss and identity inspired by Robin Norwood’s 1985 classic book of the same name. An accompanying residency at Bar Doña in Stoke Newington interchanged female emotion and destruction with every performance — Women Who Cry Too Much, Women Who Smoke Too Much, and Women Who Think Too Much.

Sofia writes for women who find themselves drawn to painful and unbalanced relationships, who feel things deeply and see romance in the everyday. “WOMEN WHO LOVE TOO MUCH” is an ode to these women, who feel less alone when they see themselves reflected in her. “God in my world is a woman,” says Sofia, “and the weakness or softness we possess, is a weapon”. If Sofia Coppola and David Lynch met at a flea market, and bought a dead woman’s life letters of love and wrote a script together, you might find something that resembles Sofia and the Antoinettes; a startling new talent.
