We put time, care and love into all our bookings, but on Wednesday 10th June we have something extra special for you. Ahead of his Gottwood appearance alongside Jane Fitz for Butter Side Up, tech house trailblazer Grant Dell will take over the renae decks for a journey through his inimitable sound.
With a career spanning more than three decades and over 40 releases under aliases including Tribalation, Uhuru Beats and Masonic Noodles, Grant has quietly shaped the foundations of underground dance music as we know it. Drawing influence from punk, dub, disco, soul, Chicago house and Detroit techno, Grant’s sets move with a rare looseness and swing, fusing the funky with the hypnotic while keeping groove at the forefront. A pioneer of tech house before the genre had a name, he’s played everywhere from Wiggle and Fabric to Rex Paris, DC-10 and Pacha Argentina, while remaining deeply connected to the underground that shaped him.
Support comes from rising star and renae favourite Touré, whose unique vision of moody minimal and electro has seen her pack dancefloors across the underground from Manchester to Glasgow and London, and soon to Dimensions in Croatia. Her deep and squelchy selections are the perfect compliment to Grant’s head-nodding heaters, so we’re in for quite a night.
Free entry - full energy.
