Join us at the Spread Eagle to celebrate a night of Electropunk and West Midlands emo with words from Mickey Nomimono, Dikk.co and Polite Bureaux.
Live music, buffet, fully stocked bar. Best night of your life for less than the price of a pint...
✦ MICKEY NOMIMONO ✦
Delivering visceral honesty over hard hitting, electronic punk out of Manchester UK: This is Mickey Nomimono.
Cutting through the mundane and tackling modern problems with tongue in cheek solutions. Mickey’s high energy, genre-bending tracks bridge the gap between the club and the pit.
Mickey Nomimono is the new HS2, Mickey Nomimono is the ultimate livener, Mickey Nomimono lives, kitchen sink realism.
✦ POLITE BUREAUX ✦
Bradford’s Polite Bureaux is an energetic, genre-smashing electronic post-punk dance project from Joe Smith, driven by wiry lo-fi pulsating beats and razor-sharp lyrical rants about daily life. Sitting somewhere between detached observation and controlled chaos it occupies the intersection of an underground movement that pushes beyond the confines of a traditional band setup.
Smith has carved out a singular lane where drum machines collide with jagged guitar lines, and with a single click of a laptop, that
unpredictable Northern energy erupts.
✦ DIKK.CO ✦
I shout into the void,
‘Do you appreciate music?!,
‘Yes, we appreciate music’. The void responds.
‘Have you heard of DIKK.CO?!’, I ask the void again.
‘No’. The void responds.
‘Well you don’t really appreciate music then do you, you prick’.
DIKK.CO is a quartet of quasi-medicated low testosterone males, Together they form a band the world always wanted but never asked for; a good West Midlands emo band. With the singular aim of making people sad with the sadness of their sad music they are what scholars are calling: ‘a form of music’ for the here and now.
