It’s been a long stretch since our last dance beneath the Pennine skies, but the breeze is softening, the mornings are brighter, and we are once again unfurling parasols on the banks of the Rochdale Canal at our spiritual home, The Golden Lion.
This time, we’re welcoming not one, but two titans of the scene for a sun-soaked showdown: John Gómez vs Ruf Dug.
John Gómez - selector, archivist, sonic wanderer - is known for weaving together deep cuts with effortless warmth and musicality. His sets drift between continents and decades, carrying us somewhere between a São Paulo block party, a Tokyo listening bar, and a sun-drenched Mediterranean terrace.
Facing him on the night is the one-and-only Ruf Dug, Manchester’s own tropical futurist and purveyor of low-slung heat. Expect synth-soaked boogie, dubbed-out oddities, playful curveballs, and that unmistakable Ruffy grin beaming from behind the controls.
Together, these two NTS Radio titans will be trading tunes and pushing everyone into new corners of sound - a friendly duel where everyone’s a winner.
