After dipping our toes into more ambient pools earlier this year, Testing the Water returns to its club‑leaning side. For this edition we’re welcoming three artists who each approach rhythm from a different angle, but share a commitment to keeping things loose.
Tom Boogizm needs little introduction to anyone who’s spent time in the UK’s weirder corners of the dancefloor, kept one eye on Boomkat’s end‑of‑year lists, or tuned into NTS. As the mind behind Shotta Tapes and the soulful, barbed, occasionally political (but never preachy) world of Rat Heart, he’s built a universe where oddball melody, busted rhythm and tape‑warped texture fold naturally into each other. A long‑time architect of mutant club logic, his sets move with that unmistakable Boogizm feel: broken but rolling, loose but laser‑focused, stitched together with the kind of instinct you can’t fake. Whether leaning into bassier sounds or dropping a Mark E. Smith banger, he’s one of the few DJs who can make a 200‑cap basement feel like a world unto itself.
We’re also thrilled to be welcoming back Aircode for a live set - her first with us since one of our earliest TTW nights back in 2022. Since then her work has only grown sharper, stranger, and more emotionally charged, folding scattered percussion, marshy pads and digital grit into something that feels both intimate and volatile.
Kicking off the night, Daksh returns to TTW after a gorgeous set for us at Shai Space, this time stepping into a more club‑facing mode. Paired with Testing the Water’s own girlboss Mag, the two will be setting the tone for the night with pressure, patience and perhaps some curveballs.
As always: come early, stay late, and remember to stay hydrated.
