After dipping our toes into more ambient pools earlier this year, Testing the Water returns to a club‑focused setting - back in a small room, welcoming four artists who each approach rhythm from a different angle, while sharing a commitment to keeping things loose.
First off, we’re welcoming Tom Boogizm, aka Rat Heart, aka Shotta Tapes head honcho. A longtime presence in the UK’s weirder dancefloor corners, whose sets move between broken rhythm, oddball melody and low-slung bass with a kind of loose precision that only really makes sense in the room. Whether leaning into bassier sounds or dropping a Mark E. Smith banger, he’s one of the few DJs who can make a 200‑cap basement feel like a world unto itself.
Aircode joins us for a live set - her first with us since 2022 - bringing something more intimate and textural. Expect scattered percussion, raw edges and moments that drift before snapping back into focus.
Opening the night, Daksh b2b Mag set the tone for the night with pressure, patience and perhaps some curveballs. Nothing rushed, nothing too obvious - just feeling things out and letting it build properly.
This one’s not about big moments or big-room energy - more a heads-down, friendly crowd, a bit loose round the edges, and a space to settle into for a few hours.
Small room, great system, sound people.
Come early, stay late, keep hydrated.
