Sweetnighter is a monthly party created by SweetNightJoe, aka Joseph Russell, in London.
We bring people together to celebrate musical expression through the love of vinyl. It’s an all-welcome dance floor where we dig deep into global dance music, cosmic jazz/funk, disco and beyond, all strictly on wax.
This month, summer’s golden haze is fading and the season is turning. The holidays are over, the city is waking up, and it’s time to get Back to School!
Think of it as a reunion for music lovers, a reset into the groove, with lessons in rhythm and lectures in pure dance floor magic.
Joining me for this special edition is Frankie Francis of Sofrito Sound, a dear friend and brilliant selector whose approach to music feels right at home at Sweetnighter.
Expect a deep journey through soulful and tropical sounds, psychedelic disco, cosmic funk, spiritual jazz, African and Caribbean rhythms, and plenty of unexpected discoveries along the way.
As always, we’ll be digging through the bags and letting the night unfold naturally, strictly vinyl, all night.
**TICKET HOLDERS – PLEASE NOTE:**
The event is in Room 1 (downstairs) @ The Jago.
We highly recommend arriving before 11 pm for a smooth, hassle-free entry. Please expect to queue if you arrive after 11 pm. It’s £5/10 for advance tickets or £15 on the door, depending on capacity. We can’t promise entry without a ticket.
