Shimmer is a clubnight and arts platform based in London. It is focused on the dancefloor experience and the intersection of texture, light and sound.
Our eighth edition is a collaborative presentation of live music and DJs alongside Affinites, the digital meeting space founded by Madu Gadzama.
Designed to be a DIY digital meeting point, Affinities aims to reimagine the way that we use the internet, placing a focus on thoughtfulness and empowerment in an attempt to drive real social change.
For the first time in Shimmer’s history, we’ll also be presenting two live acts before our clubnight - with Parker Grace Murphy supporting ROJO40’s first headline in the UK.
Originally from Los Angeles, Parker Grace Murphy creates music that merges intimate folk songwriting, live instrumentation, and immersive electronic production. Her songs pair ethereal vocals with influences from art-pop, trip-hop, and IDM.
ROJO40 is an electronic alt-Latin pop duo. Its members, Rosendo and EMBI, came together through a shared love of noise, Latin folk, and Beat literature. Their upcoming debut EP, Tengo que Hacerlo, reflects on the frenetic nature of constant doing while immersing itself in the spontaneity of live hardware performance.
Following these performances, singer, artist and DJ ELLC will kick off our clubnight, followed by an extended set by affinities boss Madu till late - accompanied all the while by our custom-built lighting setup.
