Ragdoll Rhythms returns to Planet Wax for round three, bringing a carefully curated lineup of selectors exploring bass pressure, rolling breaks, UK bass, dubstep, electro and hard groove techno all built for proper soundsystem treatment.
No genre policing, just big energy, open-minded dancers and a shared love of rhythm, low end and connection.
Rebekah Abdeen joins Ragdoll Rhythms for the first time, bringing a sound forged at the intersection of hard groove, breaks, bass, techno and rave futurism. A Newcastle-born, London-based DJ, producer and radio host, she has taken her sound from intimate clubs to renowned stages across the UK and beyond, including Fabric Room 2, Corsica Studios, Venue MOT and Glastonbury's Temple stage, alongside performances throughout Europe, Australia and the US. As a producer, Rebekah’s acclaimed releases on Unknown To The Unknown and Sound As Records have received support from BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1 Dance, BBC Radio London, Laurent Garnier, DJ Bone, Saoirse and Sister Bliss of Faithless. Her catalogue includes collaborations with poet Kate Ireland and rave architect Frankie Bones, while alongside her solo work she plays regular b2bs with Denham Audio. She also hosts a monthly show on Subtle Radio.
Live Laugh Layla is also new to the Ragdoll family, with a playful, bass-led approach spanning bass, garage, breaks, 140 and jungle. A regular fixture across London's underground circuit, she has played The Social, Crate Brewery and Islington Arts Club, literally the night before this event, and appeared at Coalesce Festival earlier this year. She's the driving force behind Live Laugh Layla Presents, a growing event series at Crate Brewery championing emerging talent. Alongside her monthly residency on Subtle Radio, she's collaborated with Nic from York on Two Tunes In, a series of remote blends and cross-border exchanges pairing DJs from around the world and celebrating shared musical language one transition at a time.
Miss Jas, another debutant with Ragdoll Rhythms, brings a bass-driven approach shaped by years immersed in UK soundsystem culture, drawing from 140, grime, deep dubstep, bassline, breaks and the heavier end of UK bass. Recent appearances include Not Bad For A Girl, Holy Grail, Halfpipe Records at Hootananny, Club Friendly at Colour Factory, Bass Angels at Two Tribes and Grounded UK at The Mezzanine. A resident on Voices Radio with guest slots on Brixton Radio and Sister Midnight FM, she continues to champion inclusive dancefloors and support spaces for FLINTA selectors within underground music. This marks her third appearance at Planet Wax and first with Ragdoll Rhythms.
Sands Spheric, co-founder of Ragdoll Rhythms, is known for joining the dots between electro, techno and bass-weighted club music. His sets balance deep digging with dancefloor instinct. Past outings include Venue MOT, The Greyhound, Archives and the Beatport Stage at Junction 2 Festival. He hosts a monthly show on Aaja, inviting a different guest each month for a two-hour b2b spotlighting artists in and around the Ragdoll Rhythms universe, including Miggs, Megwan, Triximo and Mingulitka.
EDFX is known for exploring low-slung grooves, driving rhythms and off-centre selections, with sets built on deep musical knowledge. Alongside appearances at Venue MOT and The Greyhound, he hosts Desire Lines, his monthly show on Aaja Radio, showcasing sounds shaping his wider influences. As Ragdoll co-founder, he’s a familiar face at Planet Wax, having featured in both previous Ragdoll Rhythms takeovers. EDFX also works for the homeless charity Crisis, helping organise record fairs and club nights across Peckham that raise funds while bringing people together through a shared love of music.
