OOX is a club night that explores disco and boogie music from across the world.
Screen Share is a digital inclusion charity for refugees in the UK, providing access to digital devices such as laptops and phones, digital skills training and internet connectivity to those seeking sanctuary. In an increasingly digital-first society, this support is essential. It allows their clients to navigate the challenges of the UK asylum system, tackles isolation, promotes access to services and support and helps people reach their goals in education and employment.
OOX and Screen Share are joining together for a summer party at Avalon Cafe, a DIY multi-arts venue in South London. The night is an opportunity for our communities to come together and celebrate the transformational impact that Screen Share has had on thousands of people's lives, whilst (hopefully) raising some funds so they can have an impact on thousands more!
The night will be opened by the magnificent DJ’s at Our Heartbeats, a wonderful organisation and DJ collective using music, DJing and performance to empower young people - especially refugees and underrepresented communities.
Proceeds will be donated to Screen Share to continue delivering this invaluable support.
Please consider buying an Enhanced Donation Ticket if you have the means to do so. The additional cost is enough to fund the refurbishment of one laptop. Each enhanced donation ticket sold means one more refugee provided with the tools they need to rebuild their life.
If the enhanced is too far a stretch, pair up with a buddy to each buy the donation ticket. This way, your combined ticket costs will pay for the refurbishment of one device.
We also offer free/discounted tickets to those who are unemployed or have limited funds. Please email hamish@ooxmusic.com to request one of these. We will be happy to help!
