Soul On The Canal Side returns for the third party of its summer season, with music outside from 4pm before moving into the basement from 10pm. Mucho Soul are joined by Basil Black II Basics, Miss Soxee and Damian Charles for an afternoon and night moving through jazz, soul, funk, broken beat, disco and deep house.
Basil Black II Basics
A regular at Soul On The Canal Side since 2017, Basil Isaac brings together DJing and live percussion. Across 35 years in music, he has worked with artists including Basement Jaxx, Peven Everett, Masters at Work, Robert Owens and the late Maxi Jazz, alongside appearances at Glastonbury, Cross The Tracks and Electric Picnic.
Miss Soxee
The woman behind East London Open Decks, Miss Soxee moves through jazz, funk, soul, disco, broken beat and house. She is also part of the Eves’ Drop Collective and has played at We Out Here, across the UK and throughout Europe.
Damian Charles
A dedicated house music selector with a deep collection spanning soulful, Detroit and underground sounds. Damian hosts a weekly show on Point Blank Radio and has played at Notting Hill Carnival, Deep Into Soul and Faith. He heads up the late basement session.
Mucho Soul
Founded in Soho in 2001 by Alan Kenny Arscott and Ket Shah, Mucho Soul have spent more than two decades joining the dots between jazz, reggae, funk, broken beat, house, disco and electronic music. Their Soul On The Canal Side parties have been a fixture at Grow since 2017.
ENTRY INFORMATION
This event is free before 9pm and kicks off from 4pm. After 9pm, tickets are £10 on the door. There are no advance tickets.
It’s one of the busiest events in Grow’s calendar, and we usually hit capacity early. Once we’re full, it’ll be one in, one out. So come down early to beat the queue, or be ready to wait patiently if you arrive later.
