The pop-up launches on Thursday 6 August at 11:00am during GOODHOOD’s regular store hours, followed immediately by a special after-hours Launch Activation from 7:00pm–8:00pm featuring complimentary Japanese sake provided by Hakutsuru Sake. The pop-up will continue throughout the weekend across store opening hours at GOODHOOD, 15 Hanbury Street, London E1 6QR.
The activation has been timed to coincide with the sold-out London performance of legendary Japanese guitarist Masayoshi Takanaka at Crystal Palace Bowl on Friday 7 August, giving fans and visitors to the capital an opportunity to immerse themselves in Japanese music and culture across the weekend. Ahead of the event, J-DIGS has also launched an official Japanese Fusion & City Pop playlist to set the mood for the pop-up and concert.
Visitors can browse a carefully curated collection of rare Japanese vintage records provided by Face Records—including City Pop, J-Jazz, and other influential genres—alongside original releases from Masayoshi Takanaka and official J-DIGS / Nippon Columbia catalog vinyl reissues. The pop-up will also feature an exclusive range of specially licensed Masayoshi Takanaka merchandise and collectible items, celebrating the visual identity and creativity that has made Japanese music culture increasingly influential around the world.
The launch evening will feature a DJ set from Wolf Tapes, providing a soundtrack inspired by Japanese artists and rare vinyl discoveries, while creating an informal space for music fans, collectors, and creatives to connect.
Throughout the campaign, J-DIGS will collaborate across social media with GOODHOOD, Shotengai (Beams & Co), and Masayoshi Takanaka's official channels, helping introduce the brand to UK audiences through a series of collaborative content pieces surrounding the launch.

"We are thrilled to bring J-DIGS to London for our very first UK pop-up at GOODHOOD. Japanese City Pop, J-Jazz, and vinyl culture have built an incredible global community, and timing this alongside Masayoshi Takanaka’s show makes it even more special. We can't wait to share our catalog reissues, rare vintage finds, and exclusive merch with music lovers in East London."
