Spanners
In a rare act of intrepid adventure, Bakk Heia have flown the relative safety of their northern nest to cross pollinate with schuttle’s sludgy baby Hecaton. It would take a lot to convince Bitzer to plant the BH flag south of the M60, but the cult following around Spanners in London has swayed the old hermit. Promises of a finely tuned rig, extremely limited cap, and a crowd of enthusiastic freaks should do it.
Joining us on the night will be composer/producer/dj Stella Z. We first came across Stella’s music via good friend of the label Will Hofbauer, and his joyful Third Place imprint. Stella’s album ‘In The Woods, Will Be Late’ is a beautifully layered meander through light and dark pastures, bubbling with fizzy textures and warm clusters of springy low-end mulch. After seeing Stella steer the crowd through everything from chuggy acid, post-punky scuzz, and playful wiggly brainmelters in the smoke of Old Blue Last, we were very excited to invite her to our first jaunt into the rusty waters of Spanners, where we’ll be combining the spirits of Bakk Heia and Hecaton into an all night chug-a-thon.
Joining Stella on the decks will be Bakk Heia captain Bitzer Mal (who else for an all-nite sluggy frenzy?!), and Bakk Heia co-parent / Hecaton single-parent schuttle.
So friends, please join us on September 26th at Spanners. In the woods, will be late.
