On the early May bank holiday weekend, Grooves will be back for their fifth outing in the intimate basement of Cu in Dalston, showcasing a wide variety of sounds and mixing styles across the DnB and jungle spectrum.
The formidable Tim Clay will be gracing the decks for the first time at Cu, bringing his unique style of mixing and a shedload of Function Records dubs.
Amy B has been on Grooves' radar for a little while now; having only recently begun to mix more on turntables, her skills and selections are seriously impressive - she's certainly one to watch.
Rounding off the lineup is Spacelike, who will give us some more experimental flavours, likely spanning across a wide range of BPM's within his set.
Renfer, Merlin, Danwell and Variation will be rumbling the 30Hz system with some B2B sets, and Ethics will be holding things down on hosting duties.
Grooves’ vision remains a night aimed at partygoers, jungle nerds, and chin-stroking DJs alike; the aim is to exhibit the best of DJ culture in underground music, whilst creating a safe space for those who just want to get lost in music for hours on end. For some, the thrill will be found in admiring the technical ability and selection prowess of the DJs; but for most, high quality music heard in high fidelity surrounded by people on the same wavelength is what makes a night memorable.
