It’s 1978. Berlin is still divided, a city carrying the weight of the Cold War but active with cultural energy and political debate. Along comes one of Africa’s most most influential cultural and political voices, Fela Kuti, to the Berlin Jazz Festival. Along with his band Africa ‘70, their performance brought the spirit, sound and message of Afrobeat to a European stage.
Join us for a rare chance to experience Fela Kuti and the Africa 70’s energy on the big screen and a big sound system, at the incredible independent cinema Coldharbour Blue in South London.
Following the screening, DJs Reggie Mac (Five Points) and Here on Earth residents will carry on the dance with deep rhythms until 2am.
