Aspect makes its debut at Otherside in the heart of Notting Hill on Friday 17 July from 4–7pm, bringing its community-driven bass music showcase to West London following a run of sell-out events at Four Quarters, Peckham.
Known for championing grassroots talent across House, UK Garage, Drum & Bass and bass music culture, Aspect Music has built a reputation for bringing together established artists, grassroots talent and local communities through carefully curated events.
Headlining the takeover is Murder He Wrote, whose playful blend of Garage, UK Funky, Afrohouse, Breakbeat and bass music has earned support from Ben UFO, Jyoty, Fred again.., Disclosure and Mary Anne Hobbs. With releases on Rhythm Athletic, Roska Kicks & Snares, Bingo Beats and Future Bounce, alongside appearances on BBC Radio 1, Boiler Room and Rinse FM, his eclectic, low-end-focused sets have taken him from Fabric and Ministry of Sound to clubs and festivals worldwide.
The lineup also features Aspect residents, including the charismatic Zeph Miles and the hip-hop soul and lyrical flow of Idris Miles.
Representing the deeper side of the spectrum, Aspect (dnb family) steps up for a special DJ set, delivering heavyweight Drum & Bass, intricate sound design and rolling low-end pressure. Opening the afternoon is local resident AMANTIS, bringing a globally influenced selection of rhythms, grooves and carefully curated sounds.
Previous Aspect Music lineups have featured Savannah (Kool FM), Paul T & Edward Oberon (V Recordings / Grand Nu), Poris (George FM), Dkoi (Sin Central), Randoma (Diversion Audio), Dubloke (Aspect), Leks (Yamatai Records), Sedo (Device), Alexander Sneaks (InnerSoul / Aaja Radio), Tempest (Aspect), ST (Simply Vinyl), alongside special guest vocalists Lily McKenzie and Zira Flo.
Expect an afternoon journey through Garage, UK Funky, 140 and deep Drum & Bass, celebrating local artists, independent music and community.
