Outer Waves 2026: Liverpool’s Underground Music and Arts Festival
Following its 2025 debut, Outer Waves Festival returns to Liverpool on May 23–24, 2026, taking place across Invisible Wind Factory and Make North Docks. Created to connect Liverpool to the global experimental scene, the festival brings together boundary-pushing artists from around the world for a weekend of adventurous sound, performance, and art.
The 2026 programme features OXN (featuring Radie Peat of Lankum), Dame Area, Jarboe & Thor Harris (Swans), Waq Waq Kingdom, Mohammad Syfkhan, Liverpool’s own a.P.A.t.T., the anarchic Unstoppable Sweeties Show, and Domestic Partners.
Newly announced acts include Lord Spikeheart’s radical futurist metal, Carmel Smickersgill’s witty electronic compositions, GY!PA’s politically charged experimental rap, Mincemeat’s chaotic noise-performance hybrids, HAAL’s atmospheric post-industrial soundscapes, and Luce Mawdsley’s intimate avant-folk explorations.
Beyond the live performances, Outer Waves 2026 expands with workshops, panel discussions, artist commissions, and installations, with further details to follow. As night falls, the celebration continues with after-parties at Quarry featuring guest DJs, collaborations, and immersive late-night experiences.
