SUBVERGE // 28.08.26
A night shaped by groove, depth, and atmosphere — a space where each artist brings their own story, their own sound, and their own way of pulling dancers into the late‑night flow.
Adam Bennett
Adam Bennett is one of the freshest new voices in the Leeds underground. Inspired by the full spectrum of electronic music, his sound leans into deep, dark, groovy synth‑driven textures. Eclectic and meaningful in his approach, Adam’s sets move with intention: hypnotic, atmospheric, and built for dancers who want to sink into the groove.
Chris I’Anson
Chris I’Anson has been a key figure in the Yorkshire music scene for over fifteen years. First recognised through Slipstone Records and his radio shows on KMAH and Timeline Radio, he is best known as the co‑founder of On Rotation, a party and label that has shaped the northern underground.
A vinyl‑only DJ with a refined ear for classy ambient and dub‑techno soundscapes, Chris brings depth, patience, and immersive late‑night energy to every set.
James Frances
James Frances is the founder of Soul Potential and a true Leeds legend. His sound blends groove‑rich house, soulful textures, and emotionally charged selections, creating sets that feel both intimate and expansive. With an ear for meaningful, movement‑driven club music, James brings a warm, eclectic energy to the dancefloor, reflecting years of shaping and uplifting Leeds’ underground community.
Rachel Jazz
Rachel Jazz is a Leeds‑based vinyl DJ whose repertoire spans underground disco, dark psychedelic downtempo, deep sensual house, jazz, and effects‑laden dub. A committed presence in the city’s queer and underground scenes, she co‑founded Pleasuredome Must Be Built and runs a genre‑spanning mix series at Outlaws Yacht Club.
Drawing from Balearic warmth, hazy late‑90s downtempo, and the boundary‑pushing spirit of François K, her sets are eclectic, unpredictable, and deeply rooted in Leeds’ underground culture.
Optimistic Soul
Optimistic Soul is a Leeds‑based DJ, producer, and founder of Subverge, a platform dedicated to deep, groovy, dub‑leaning electronic music. Beginning his production journey in 2015 and stepping into DJing in 2018, he has built a strong presence through residencies at Jaiva Glasgow (Sub Club), Africa Is Now (Berkeley Suite), and Radio Buena Vida, alongside involvement with London’s Afro‑house imprint WeAreIdyll.
Rooted in African electronic music, his sound carries groove, percussion, and emotional storytelling — now channelled into a broader, exploratory underground palette shaped by warm low‑end, hypnotic rhythms, and immersive late‑night movement.
