Kirk Barley celebrates the launch of his new album Arc (Marionette) at Hope House, Leeds.
A Yorkshire-born composer and sound artist, Barley works with field recordings, instrumental fragments and found sounds. Drawing on minimalism, sample-based hip-hop, dub techno and post-rock, his music moves between detailed acoustic sound, off-grid sequencing and quietly unfolding electronic forms.
Support comes from Elsa Hewitt, whose intimate, experimental songwriting combines voice and guitar with electronic production, rhythm and layered textural detail.
DJ selections throughout the evening from Harkirit and Sangria Kong.
