On May 8th, over from Berlin for her Leeds debut, is a DJ truly forging her own path - Olya Smok!
In our view, Olya’s one of the most exciting DJs doing it. Someone who believes that beyond merely something functional - dance music has the potential to be inspiring, emotive, experimental and downright beautiful.
Equally at home rolling out deep trancers or quirky minimal oddities as she is playing abstract, broken club rhythms that could only loosely fit under any genre descriptor - Olya strikes that golden balance of understanding how to move a dancefloor, but also how to shock it.
Joe will be on hand for the first few hours of the evening to warm up the room with appropriately ambiguous tunes - his years as Smok fanboy will help no doubt…
