Our 2nd clubnight as part of Counterflows returns to the Art School’s Assembly Hall, where we’ll be focussing on making it sounding and looking as good as possible: fully prep’d for 4 hours of dance subsumption. Downstairs we’ll be keeping the Vic Bar open as a quieter spot to hang out and chill, meaning you can move between both floors if you so choose.
Warming things up will be a DJ set from Glasgow’s Alliyah Enyo. Their sets are built upon a meditative approach to sound, centring the ambient elements within dance music, layered with dubby hypnotic polyrhythms, percussive details and dark, noisy gothic selections.
Hitting Glasgow via Richmond & the Phillippines, SEEKERINTERNATIONAL will treat us to a rare live set of their oblique electronic music, influenced by the various facets of Jamaican dub and sound system culture.
Bringing the dance deep into the night will be Glasgow’s Mother (aka Mark Maxwell), one of the Glasgow’s legendary selectors. Expect a set clawed from the liminal spaces between Techno, Dub, Jungle, Noise, Industrial and a whole manner of uncategorizable underground grot.
