On Saturday 18th July, we are delighted to welcome one of the UK’s most trusted dancefloor operators. Hammer to close the doors of the Bongo for the summer. Expect analogue‑soaked house, driving drums and those big melodic moments he comes known for.
Born in Belfast and schooled in Glasgow’s house, disco, and techno underground, Hammer has carved out a sound built on deep rolling arps, vintage analogue synths and big, heart‑in‑mouth melodies, the kind that have become a staple at spots like Panorama Bar, fabric, Love International, Glastonbury and AVA in his hometown. As a producer he’s behind cult labels Remmah and Italo Hiits, platforms that have pushed artists like Anna Gram, Kilimanjaro and Stevie Cox while serving up his own sleazy, hi‑NRG take on Italo and modern disco.
With recent heaters on imprints such as Optimo Music, Shall Not Fade and Get Physical, plus collaborations with longtime friends Bicep, Hammer’s records are built for that exact moment when the room tips over into full release... think driving grooves, lush synth work and hooks that sit somewhere between warehouse rush and twilight hour. Add in his The Hammer Hits residency at Glasgow’s Berkeley Suite and a busy touring calendar across Europe, North America and India, and you’ve got a selector who knows exactly how to read a crowd and keep things simmering all night.
For Bongo’s closing party, we’re handing him the keys to that Danley rig and letting him do what he does best with support from Glasgow's Lobos - who's recent release on Lava Lava features a remix from the big man himself - plus Hobbes and Athenian label mate Leonidas and Neptune Disc's Plastic GRN.
As per past closing parties. Tickets will move fast for this.
Don't miss out!
