oddhippo are the glitch in the algorithm, the animal in the machine. They conjure strange dreams you can move through. This is for anyone drawn to the fault line between chaos and clarity and invites listeners to lose themselves in the pulse of a world just slightly off centre.
An alternative electronic 3-piece consisting of bass, drums, beat mashing, synths and vocals based in Brighton. Rustling up a thick goulash of genres, including hip hop, funk, future and leftfield bass.Their new track Self Obliteration blends experimental electronic production, abrasive rock textures, avant-garde structures and rapid-fire rap vocals, Self Obliteration draws inspiration from the life and artistic universe of Yayoi Kusama. The track explores obsession, repetition, identity and artistic endurance through a chaotic, immersive sound world that shifts between mechanical intensity and hypnotic atmosphere.
With distorted electronics, fractured rhythms and an unpredictable structure, Self Obliteration pushes further into oddhippo’s collision of experimental music and alternative rock, creating something confrontational, strange and deeply physical.
